I began my art adventures in the 6th grade after dropping out of band where I played the oboe. It was in this art class I learned about O'Keefe and Van Gogh and began playing with the beautiful realm of colors in various mediums. I moved on to honors and AP art in highschool but my art fell to the wayside once I entered college and focused on a marine biology degree. It has only been recently that I've gotten back into art and have begun to develop my sense of style. I've begun to love the world of drawing, looking at the contrast that only a pencil can give you and tinkering with the world of pastels, so soft and smooth that the colors melt onto the page. In the world of photography I began with regular point and shoot cameras, reading the manual to learn how to work the functions and then developing my own style from there. We purchased a Canon Rebel XTI several years ago, bringing us into the digital SLR world and now I've moved on to a Canon Rebel T1I, a 15 megapixel beauty with HD video capabilities. My focus is mostly on the natural world, but I am working to build my portrait style and hope to delve into this in the future. |
