I am a self-taught crocheter and began crocheting in 2003. My grandmother had taught me to do chains as a girl but I never went on to learn much more than that.
My grandmother is, and my great-grandmother was, awesome crochters. The afghans and other items they made were something to be cherished. I started off with afghans, baby blankets
for my friends and then moved on to making then for my friends themselves, and finally working up to purses and clothing.
